Blackjack 21 Teacher Sued For Excluding Sikh From Course
An expert card player and blackjack 21 teacher stated that he threw out a Spanish Sikh player from his course, because he suspected that the man worked for casinos that want to keep people out that take expert courses in blackjack 21. Following to this event, the card player sued the teacher and now wants his money back or re-entry the course.
The man in question is Guru Sant Singh Khalsa and according to his attorney John Aragon of Santa Fe, Khalsa invested thousands of dollars and many hours of time in this course, because he wanted to become an expert blackjack 21 player. Khalsa's plan was to become a good enough player to advance to the advanced seminar. Aragon adds that because Khalsa is no longer able to attend the course, Khalsa will lose his investment, time and future profits in playing blackjack 21 in casinos.
Richard Harvey and Richard Brown are the ones being sued by Khalsa. They do business as Mystic Ridge Books (also called Mystic Ridge Production) and give expert courses on how to play the popular game blackjack 21. Khalsa believes that the company breached their contract with him.
The official complaint says that Richard Harvey falsely accused Khalsa of being of working as an undercover security officer for casinos, while participating in the blackjack 21 course. Harvey admits accusing Khalsa and he claims that the lawsuit convinces him even more that Khalsa is really working undercover for casinos. Harvey also said that he is planning to give Khalsa back his money, which isn't thousands of dollars like his attorney said, but $325 + taxes.
Seminar holders, casinos and other private businesses have officially the right to ban anyone. Harvey asked Khalsa to give him a photo and identification, needed to subscribe for the blackjack 21 course, but Khalsa didn't want to do it. This is the reason why Harvey first started to suspect Khalsa. According to Harvey, after starting the seminar, Khalsa's behavior got stranger and Khalsa tried to lure Harvey into starting an illegal blackjack 21 team with him.
Harvey claims to be one of the top blackjack 21 players in the world. He developed a system of winning at blackjack 21, about 10 years ago with computer studies, "card-behavior studies" and "theoretical-math models." Harvey has written several books about his blackjack 21 technique, including Blackjack the Smart Way.
Interesting fact is that according to the Sikh Code of Ethical Conduct, better known as the Reht Maryada, any for of gambling is strictly forbidden, together with stealing, alcohol and drugs.
